This traditional fishing village now forms part of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast which stretches eastward as far as Weymouth in Dorset.
Even without your own transport Beer is an excellent base to explore the local area, as well as further afield into Dorset and Devon: on foot along the Coastal Path, by local bus and the Seaton Tram or by using the Coastal Express bus service. If you don't want to travel, then Beer has all the attractions and activities you require to enjoy a holiday by the sea.

All of the pubs have restaurants and you are advised to book in advance, particularly in the summer.

- The Dolphin - Tel: 01297 20068. Free House, Cotleigh Ales. The new owners hope to re-open the skittle alley in the near future.
- The Anchor Inn - Tel: 01297 20386. Greene King IPA, Abbot and Ruddles County. Beer garden overlooking the beach, excellent local grilled fish.
Branscombe
- The Masons Arms - Tel: 01297 680300. Free House. Excellent beers and good wine list. Great bar food and restaurant. Booking adviseable.
- Fountain Head - Tel: 01297 680359. Own brew, real ales, traditional pub bar food.
Both pubs feature beer festivals throughout the summer so look out for the dates!
